Hello everyone! Today I am showing you a delightful project I thoroughly enjoyed, a whimsical keepsake map I painted for Marni as a special surprise gift for her fiance. Marni found me on Etsy and we clicked right away, she was super sweet and wanted something special to give her husband-to-be in anticipation of their upcoming wedding.
Marni and Adam loved to travel and have been to many places together around the world. She wanted something that would commemorate their relationship as travel partners and also their upcoming life together in their new home after marriage.
Since they both love cycling, and Marni was in love with some of the nostalgic pen-and-ink vintage-inspired drawings I did for my invitations, she wanted a similar note in her map. We discussed the best way to lay out her map and how many points and locations we could feature. It was hand-painted and lettered all on one piece on Twinrocker’s fabulous handmade (in USA) thick feathered watercolor paper. Marni had it float-mounted and told me her fiance loves it! I am eagerly awaiting a picture of the float-mounted map!
