A Letter from an Older Self

Reflections

I got this in my mail today, it is from my older self.

Dearest Younger Amy,

Do enjoy the simpler pleasures in life. Look for the beautiful around you and record it in any creative manner you desire-as an oil painting, a watercolor, a beautiful photograph or even as a cake. Travel extensively, work with others, help those who are not as fortunate and you will see and learn to be grateful for all that we have. Laugh often, with friends, family, Hun. Try not to get sucked into the pettiness of life. Don’t spend too much time worrying about what should be and just let it be. Write and read poetry. They can be very moving. Touch flowers. Create beautiful spaces around you. Have a cozy home, but not too material. Beauty can be sparse too And never look back. Life can be exciting when older too. Always wear a pretty dress. And smile smile smile.

xoxo,

Older Amy
