Revamping the Studio (s)

It has been a WHIRLWIND few weeks working late hours, long weekends but really excited about our upcoming new intern/assistant. I have been super busy getting things ready. It has been getting a little cramped the last few production cycles at the main studio room and we have decided to move production out to our former dining area *sniff*. It’s looking really good and there is now more space to spread out. The original studio will now be strictly design, art and inspiration.

We built and painted a brand new large bookshelf to fit all the books and assorted knick knacks and my easel now has a chance to unfold it legs. A door from the salvage yard and two beautiful mid century drawers is the new office table since the old one has moved to production.

For the most part, I’ve scoured craigslist, flea markets and thrift stores for our furniture and accessories as I highly prefer an unstaged, unpolished interior rather than a slick magazine or catalog look. I also like that every piece has a previous life or story to it that brand new furniture just don’t.

Here it is now, almost there! Design studio on top, production studio below.

Here it is before the revamp.
